Distinguished scientist A Sivathanu Pillai and actor Kamal Haasan were among six celebrities who received the Tamizhan awards of Puthiya Thalaimurai news channel at a function here recently. SRM University Chancellor Dr T.R. Pachamuthu and N Ram of The Hindu presented the Tamizhan award for science and technology to Sivathanu Pillai.
The awards instituted by the ‘Puthiya Thalaimurai’ news channel were distributed to achievers in the fields of social service, business, science and technology, sports, Tamil literature and entertainment.
