PRLog (Press Release) – Dec 17, 2010 – It is indeed a matter of pride that Shridhar University Pilani located in the famed Shekhawati region right in its very first year has attracted students for admissions to various programmes not only from Rajasthan but also from various states of India which include Assam, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra and Uttarakhand.
Shridhar University which started functioning from November 19, 2009 celebrated its first anniversary “Shridhar Foundation Day”. The Chief Guest for the function was Father of Brahmos Missile, Dr A Sivathanu Pillai - Distinguished Scientist & Chief Controller, Research & Development, DRDO, Ministry of Defence & Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, BrahMos Aerospace, New Delhi.
Dr Pillai on his arrival at the university had a traditional Rajasthani welcome with tilak garland and turban. Prof Bir Singh welcomed the distinguished gathering and anchored the proceedings. Chancellor Mr Vijay Pal Yadav in his speech emphasized that Shridhar University was all geared to provide the finest education and training in science, technology and arts with a pedagogy that will enrich the present, enhance the future, challenge the improbable resulting in achieving the impossible to the next generation of independent and critical thinking scholars who will emerge as leaders and innovators in all walks of life.
Prof BR Natarajan Pro Vice Chancellor after unfolding the Shridhar University dream introduced Dr Sivathanu Pillai to the audience which was followed by Chancellor Mr Vijay Pal Yadav receiving the ISO 9001:2008 certificate to a thunderous applause from the hands of Dr Pillai.
Dr Sivathanu Pillai in his speech congratulated Shridhar University for coming up in a great way in a short span of time and urged the students and faculty to strive for excellence in all their endeavors. Highlighting the scientific glory of India from ancient times to modern times, Dr Pillai pointed out that India’s nuclear, space and missile programs achieved great feats against global sanctions and boycott. After a lively question answer session, the function ended with singing of the national anthem.
